This fall, will there be another Prime Day?

Our instinct tells us the fall Prime Day sale won’t be as significant as the one in July, despite rumours to the contrary. Instead, as a lead-up to the significant end-of-year sales period, it may simply run a selection of early deals that are only available to Prime members. Consider it a practise run for Black Friday 2022.

Of course, Amazon hasn’t officially announced any details about a Prime Day fall event, so we’ll be watching for any news in the upcoming weeks. However, it is understandable why the retailer might want to run another. With more than 300 million items sold globally over the course of the two-day sale, Prime Day 2022 was Amazon’s biggest Prime Day ever. As soon as we learn anything new that provides us with new information about the potential sale and what deals we might see, we’ll let you know.

Prime Day 2022 took place when?

Between Tuesday, July 12 and Wednesday, July 13, Amazon Prime Day 2022 offered a huge selection of daily deals (opens in new tab). At one in the morning ET on June 16, the retailer announced the dates for the first time in a press release.
We anticipated that Prime Day would return to July in 2022 and even specified the dates for the event: July 11–12 (so we were one day off). It was moved from June of last year to October because of the pandemic in 2020.

Prior to this, July was always the month for Prime Day, and the retailer made a comeback in 2022. Back in 2015, it was initially a 24-hour shopping event, but it quickly grew to 30 hours in July 2017 and then to a full two days.

What is Prime Day on Amazon?

Amazon’s biggest annual sale is Prime Day. The annual two-day deals event typically takes place in the summer and is only accessible to Amazon Prime members. You can always sign up for a free 30-day trial(opens in new tab) to gain access to the subsequent Prime Day deals if you are not a member when it occurs.

After a price increase back in February, a Prime membership now costs $14.99 per month, or $139 annually, if you are unable to get the trial. Previously, it cost $12.99 per month or $119 annually.

Please read our Amazon Prime review for a detailed explanation of all the benefits of a membership, including free shipping, Prime Video access, and much more. If you don’t want to keep your Amazon Prime subscription after the sale, that can help you make a decision.

The first Prime Day was held in 2015 to commemorate Amazon’s 20th birthday. The online retailer claims its sole objective was to “offer a volume of deals greater than Black Friday” in an effort to persuade consumers to spend money outside of the October–December holiday season.

What were the best Prime Day deals this year?

The best Prime Day discounts are always available on Amazon-branded products. The Kindle Paperwhite, Echo Show 5, Fire 7 Tablet, and Echo Dot, to name just a few, all had discounts of up to 55% this year. The retailer also offers a sizable selection of cheap Fire TVs, starting at just $89 each.
Aside from Amazon’s own products, discounts on well-known brands like Samsung, Apple, Sony, Bose, and SharkNinja were once again highlighted. Amazon promo code 20% off anything in addition to offering some items from these manufacturers at their all-time low prices. While some of the claims were exaggerated, there were significant discounts to be had on these well-known brands’ television sets, laptops, headphones, and vacuum cleaners.

Then, outside of the bigger brands, Amazon made more of an effort during this year’s sale to support its marketplace sellers. Over $3 billion was spent over the course of the two days on more than 100 million small- and medium-sized business products, setting yet another record.

Additionally, this year’s back-to-school sales got underway early thanks to Prime Day’s discounts on a lot of the hottest tech and necessities. With many devices at their lowest prices of the year, it was a good time to purchase a new laptop or Chromebook. We also noticed considerable savings on other product lines, including clothing, portable speakers, headphones, and more.

OUR PRO TIPS FOR PRIME DAY 2022 PREPARATION

1. Obtain a free trial of Amazon Prime.

Amazon Prime Day is only available to Prime subscribers. However, if you haven’t previously subscribed, Amazon offers a free trial that you can start prior to the event. Just be careful not to schedule your membership so that it overlaps Prime Day. You can ascertain when to begin your free trial by steering away from the date Amazon confirms as that.

2. however, don’t rely on it.

In an effort to take a piece of Amazon’s market share, more retailers taken part in comparable Prime Day sales the previous year. This year, we anticipate that retail stores like Walmart and Best Buy will run their own sales during the same timeframe. So you can shop around to find the best Prime Day bargains. In the end, you might find exactly what you want for a substantial discount somewhere other than Amazon where membership is optional.

3. Know what you want to purchase.

A good place to start is to have an idea of what you want to buy before participating in major sales events like Amazon Prime Day. Yes, we all enjoy a little digital window shopping. But when you know what you want, you can cut through the unnecessary stuff, avoid the flash sales, and jump right to the good stuff. Take a few minutes right away learning about the price history of the product. You’ve decided on as well as the costs of its rivals’ more affordable and more expensive models over the previous year. With that in mind, you can enter Prime Day prepared and aware of the best offers.

4. But keep an open mind

Even if you are completely informed about the one item you really want. You shouldn’t assume that the specific TV, tablet, or other item you want will be on sale. Despite having your heart set on a certain item. It is possible that no discounts are available when the big day comes. Does that imply that you ought to give up? No way.

Take a look at comparable products using the research you did in the days before. Perhaps that slightly more expensive model has been discounted to a price that is more in line with your original item. Or is there an equivalent cheaper item that is even less for Prime Day. In either case, you might end up with a better product than you would have otherwise missed out on or an even bigger savings.

5. Arrive there first.

You want to be among the first people to check which deals have gone live at midnight on Prime Day. Or at the very least when you wake up in the morning. Although nothing in this early window is likely to sell out in a matter of hours. There is undoubtedly a chance that the hottest deals will do so as the first day goes on. If you see something you really want to buy, add it to your cart right away. If you change your mind, you can always cancel the order.

6. but continue to check in during the event

Just because you were able to close your ideal deal right away doesn’t mean Amazon is finish. Throughout the entire sales window, new Prime Day deals are release. There are frequently flash sales that may catch your eye. And if you missed out on a big deal, sold-out items might pop back up later.
