Fiance Visa Processing Guide

The US Embassy in Kyiv processes USCIS approved translation services. The fiancee visa, or K, allows spouses who are likely to become US citizens. Traveling to the United States for the purpose of marriage The minor children (under 21) of your future spouse can travel to the United States on a K visa. Step 1 – Submit a Request

To initiate the K-1 process, you must file a claim with the Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) with jurisdiction over your current or intended residence in the United States. There is a $170.00 petition USCIS Approved Translation Services fee as well as all visa-related fees. This fee is subject to change without notice. Your fiance’s child must be on the petition. Even if they are not traveling, USCIS sets requirements for petition approval. Applications for a K-1 visa cannot be filed or approved outside the United States.

Please note that approval of the request is only the first step of this process. Approval is not a visa approval. Step 2 – Once your request is approved

Step 3 – Preliminary Case Management

All approved I-129F petitions are being sent by USCIS to the National Visa Center (NVC) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, rather than being sent directly to the overseas issuing post. The NVC performs all initial procedures, after which the completed petition is sent to the appropriate office overseas. You may be sure that once we have received and approved the petition, we will contact your fiancé(e) regarding preparations for the formal visa interview.

Step 4 – Schedule an Interview

Your visa interview cannot be scheduled until we have received your approved application and completed the KEV-1 form.

The appointment kit contains the date of your appointment and reiterates the documents you need to provide at the time of the interview. Health checks can only be performed by one of the doctors listed in Series 3 and 4. K1 and K2 visa applicants are not required to submit proof of vaccination or receive any vaccinations. Step 5 – Visa Interview

Visa interviews are by appointment only. Your fiancée will complete the DS-156 temporary visa application as a couple. Along with a copy of the DS-156K form, each dependent child will need to apply for the DS-156 nonimmigrant visa repeatedly. The original and one copy with a certified/sworn English translation will also be required for the interview. Original of primary documents such as birth, marriage, and death certificates It will be returned to the applicant after the interview.

Your fiancé will be asked to present the following:

A valid passport or travel document for the USCIS Approved Translation Services beneficiary and dependent children.

A statement of endorsement from an absent parent authorizing the child to immigrate to the United States. along with a photocopy and signature page of his/her passport. or a court order of the legal guardian or a death certificate.

The beneficiary’s birth certificate and dependent children

Proof of termination of the previous marriage of both the applicant and the beneficiary
Change of name or marriage certificate.

Police certificate for all beneficiaries and dependent children over 16 years of age.

Health screening results for beneficiaries and dependent children

Evidence of sufficient financial support once in the United States to ensure that your fiancé and dependent children do not become a public burden.
